S.p.A. has achieved numerous milestones in the <strong>field of airport construction<\/strong>, like the work carried out for the airports of Pisa and Firenze.<\/p>\r\n<p>Our new department has successfully overcome significant challenges, related to <strong>flight facilities<\/strong> (airside) and <strong>terminals<\/strong> (landside). These two large macro-areas are in fact essential spaces in every modern airport.<\/p>\r\n<p>The <strong>airside<\/strong> area encloses all the flight facilities, therefore:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>The runway (usually in asphalt, with the possible addition of rigid concrete barriers)<\/li>\r\n<li>An aircraft apron<\/li>\r\n<li>One or more junctions to connect the yard to the runway<\/li>\r\n<li>One or more taxiways<\/li>\r\n<li>Hangar for the shelter and maintenance of airport vehicles (cargo, tractors, ramps&#8230;)<\/li>\r\n<li>A fire station<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>The <strong>landside area<\/strong> includes the terminal, which comprises all the facilities and areas accessible to the public.
