The airport terminal is the building that allows passengers to move from land transport to air transport and vice versa. C.E.M.E.S. S.p.A. oversees the design, construction and renovation of the structures and spaces that normally make up the terminal.
Inside, the terminal must provide areas for passenger boarding and disembarking operations, such as check-in desks, border control, boarding areas, customs in case of an international airport and baggage retrieval.
In order to make waiting for flights more pleasant for passengers, the terminal never lacks services such as restaurants, bars, stores or duty free shops. Some areas that are not intended for passenger transit, such as the Baggage Handling System (BHS), are also part of the terminal.
